About Cyn

Cyn is originally from Houston, TX; she moved to Murphy, NC in 2016 and loves every part of her little mountain town.  Before moving she accomplished a variety of achievements. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, she was a crime scene investigator for a police department on the Mexican border, she married and gave birth to a beautiful little girl.  All the while, she was an artist, doing commissioned work; painting and refinishing things from wall art to furniture to cabinetry.

Art has been a passion of hers since she was given her first paint set at five years old.  Cyn has always appreciated the fact that she could take any surface and make it look better.  Along her journey she learned how to repair furniture and perfected the art of making different kinds of paint.  She also learned that refinishing furniture wasn’t just about the physical-making it look more appealing to the eye.  It was also about the emotional- preserving heirlooms, which her customers have found to be invaluable.

Among many other things, Cyn is a dreamer, a teacher, a scientist, an optimist, and artist.  She believes art can change lives for the better, and she plans to change as many as possible!

“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” — Thomas Merton
